Best Cleaning Tips for Keeping Your Home Pet Hair-Free

By Lasonja W.

When we adopted our pup years ago, I had no idea she would shed so much. I was initially told that it was seasonal but that wasn’t the case. My dog sheds year-round and she sheds A LOT. When it comes to removing pet hair, I’ve tried many things. Some methods worked much better than others, but I’ve found five things that work best for my house. The good thing about these methods is that they are inexpensive, and they aren’t time consuming. The best advice I can offer leads me to Tip #1:

Invest in a pet hair vacuum. I personally have success with Dyson Brand Vacuum, which you can find as one of our monthly sweepstakes prizes that we offer - check back each month to see what the month prize is. These vacuums include multiple attachments that help remove pet hair.

Cleaning furniture such as the couches, I rely on pet hair lint rollers. These are inexpensive and come in regular and super sticky. These lint rollers can be found in stores and on Amazon.com. I personally love the Scotch-Brite Brand.

I’ve found that cleaning the inside of my car gets easier when using Duct Tape. I typically buy several rolls at dollar stores, and they work just fine. These are best for removing hair from the carpet of my car.

A pet hairbrush can be a life saver. These can be used on furniture or in the car.

I often worry about pet hair getting on my clothes, so I was so happy to find a brand of dryer sheets that helps to repel the hair. I like the Bounce Pet Hair and Lint Guard brand. These dryer sheets are inexpensive and still smell great, just toss a few sheets in during your next load.

Dealing with pet hair can be draining and time consuming but hopefully these tips will make life a little easier. Have you found any methods that work great for you? Share your thoughts and join our community.
